Our special kids yoga club did a simple but well executed yoga show at their school today, as part of the Mother day celebration.

All the children and teachers too, did a wonderful job!

Taichung Special School - Mother Day Yoga Show Preparations

Yoga works for everybody. Over the past few months I had the privilige to teach some yoga ideas to the second graders of this senior high School in Taichung. They are doing it very well. They have developed mobility, strength and coordination. Their sense of balance has improved tremendously and their behavior seems to have become more mature and aware.

Yama Niyama curriculum for KG

Yama and Niyama are part of the Yoga discipline. They are guidelines for daily life and personal growth, and indispensable for any one aiming to develop a life devoted to nurturing the inner self.
Yama and Niyama are also part of the school curriculum of New Humanist Education. We are now preparing ten little booklets with a story for each topic of the guidelines and hope to publish them before the start of the next semester (August 2009). The teacher guide called 'Values of Love' is already done. The Arunima is currently drawing the pictures of the central character in these ten tales, all based on Superbunny. We will let you soon know more about Superbunny and his publishing adventures!

Yoga with 90 Upwithpeople- volunteers

About 90 people from all over the world did yoga in the park of Fong chia University, Taichung. They came to Taiwan to learn about the culture and get to know how people do service here. The Yoga helped them find some personal balance in their busy schedule. They said they liked it a lot. I sure did too!

Handicapped People Yoga - Taipei

In Taipei there are a lot of handicapped Yoga classes. It was my first time to share my yoga experience with them. The time seemed to fly as we went through the class. They all did good!

Education of Peace through Yoga - Workshop February 14/15

We had a wonderful workshop on Yoga in Schools in Taipei, with most sincere and inspiring teachers. Geeta organized the program and we all enjoyed her care and planning. The workshop covered four subjects:

Yoga and Western anatomy (with special focus on the link between muscle lines and meridians)

Yoga concept of the mind and child development/ pedagogy.

How to help handicapped/ special children with yoga.

How to integrate yoga into the school system.


The weather and environment were so fine that we did some nice stretching out under the trees.

Our next workshop will be March 8th, in Taichung. The focus will be on KG and elementary schools.

January Tainan workshop

We had a small, but nice workshop in Tainan about Education of Peace, with storytelling, songs, yoga and discussions for growing more peaceful schools and families.

The program was organized by Susana and I-huei from Yilin Bookshop. We will have a follow up program in April! Thanks for your many years of support.
